On the 17th of Febuary 2024, The UPU celebrated the 19th graduation ceremony that marked the culmination of years of hard work, dedication, and academic achievements. A total number of 382 from the Faculties of Law, Education, Social Sciences, Business, IT and Journalism. students graduated at a ceremony themed:“EMBRACING THE DIGITAL AGE: Navigating Tomorrow’s Frontiers”. In today’s rapidly evolving landscape, proficiency in digital tools and concepts is no longer just an advantage but a necessity. Our graduates have demonstrated their readiness to embrace this digital age, equipped with both knowledge and adaptability to navigate the challenges and opportunities it presents.
The graduation ceremony took place from Mucwa, the UPU’s main campus in Fort Portal Tourism City. The Minister of Secutity Hon. Maj. Gen.Jim Muhwezi was the Guest of Honor who encouraged the graduands to embrace the ongoing technological advacements in the digital age to compete in the involving job market.
UPU also hosted the renown Hon. Prof. Dr. Palamagamba John Aidan Mwaluko Kabudi; the great legal scholar and Member of Parliament who flew all the way from Tanzania.

Vice Chancellor’s Message
In her speech, the Vice Chancellor Prof. Pelucy Ntambirweki emphasised that digitalising our processes through applying technology in our management and financial management. As a result UPU is now able to employ innovative teaching methods which provide students with a modern, practical and forward-thinking learning in all our five faculties. This technology has improved learning, better student research and enabling students through the e-student management system to access their courses, financial obligations, results and even access their own transcript at a click of a button.

In her speech, she reminded the granduands about the fact that they are entering a world that is more interconnected than ever before, where the ability to adapt to new technologies is crucial. The education and experiences they have acquired at UPU have prepared them not just to embrace this digital age, but to thrive in it.
